I am always connected to my work. I stay mentally connected to my paintings whether in the studio or at the hardware store. I am consciously aware of my behavior and try to reflect this in my work. My investigation is a physical and visual exploration of my everyday encounters with society and nature. I use paint as a transformative element while enabling my use of object to work between the realms of two and three-dimensional pieces. Objects are fixed to the canvas in ways that both contain and release the forms, which allow the work as a whole to be questioned as both sculpture and painting. The duality of paint and object, containment and release, accentuates the visceral response I am investigating in relation to my microcosm.
